Kusshi Sushi is coming to Riverdale Park Station!
They have rented the old LeFantome spot.
As I was saying in my last post here back in April 2025 the Horu Sushi was consistently busy and only Chunky and Bops did more business than Horu (for a very brief time period) so the demand for high end sushi/Japanese food is definitely here!
Horu Sushi was the only option that survived the entire LeFantome run from opening in August 2022 till closing in April 2025. They didn't just survive they thrived even with poor disjointed management from LeFantome.
Kusshi is a high end sit down restaurant with locations pretty much anywhere that it's fancy.
Kusshi owners were not willing to provide me a definitive timeline for opening as they just signed the lease in January 2026, but since LeFantome is already built out probably just needs a remodel in order to reopen.

It's lots of high end sushi and sushi rolls and various noodle dishes. Very similar to what Horu offered but maybe even a small step up from that. They say they specialize in in modern Japanese cuisine.
I am excited that Riverdale Park Station will have another sit-down restaurant with table service aside from just Burton's, which has been the only option for that type of thing since Riverdale Park Station opened.
This also is the first big score for First Washington Realty which purchased the entire retail development here at Riverdale Park Station from Cafritz back in March of 2025.
Cafritz was running LeFantome on their own and not actually leasing the property and I am sure finding a company willing to rent a space this large and expensive was not an easy feat so kudos to First Washington Realty on this major score.
