If this is the final layout for the Gold's Gym--which I'm hoping is not--then I'm honestly a little disappointed. For a platinum level gym, I was expecting more amenities beyond this, especially for some of the monthly fees they're charging. They could've at least put a pool or a basketball court in here.
As for other retail, I thought an announcement about what was coming to the neighborhood was supposed to happen this month. Aside from the FedEx (which I'm also disappointed about), I was hoping other businesses would be on their way so the workers could patronize the restaurants/starbucks there. I understand Cafritz/HR Retail want to play it close to the chest but give us something.
I concur, this Gold's seems disappointing. Besides it being "new," what makes this platinum level??? I may cancel, I'm not sure the fees are justified. Will wait and see...
Yea, it is a little disappointing.. Those of us who live here will be a member no matter what but I don't see a lot of folks outside the neighborhood joining.
Yup, everybody can see it...the "Platinum" name is a hoax, means absolutely nothing. And even if it meant something like additional classes, you've got to pay elite fitness center prices to access what are usually included services like spin, bootcamp, and other classes. For $39.99 here, you'll receive the equivalent of a new building with Planet Fitness services which they offer for $9.99. It's terribly upsetting.
What's really crazy is the base membership is going up to $49.99 plus enrollment fee after 2/15... You are correct that they will charge for spin or any class even though the other Gold's Gym's that is included. Even the childcare which is included at other locations is an extra charge here. Personally since I live here I am going to be a member no matter what but I cannot see many others joining. Maybe when they don't get many members later on they will negotiate more.
Original anonymous poster here. So let me get this straight: just to be clear, in addition to the $49.99 plus enrollment fee after 2/15, they're going to charge a separate fee for the spin classes and the childcare? How did this come about? Does the upper management honestly think people are going to buy into this just because it's conveniently close? I plan on living in this neighborhood and I would rather just go elsewhere, even if I have to get in my car and drive there.
Welcome to the neighborhood! It's disappointing but honestly for me I can throw a stone to the front door so I'm joining. I don't blame you though. I'm finding I am never driving living here so thinking of getting rid of the second car so my options are more limited.
