Denizens Brewing Company to Riverdale Park Station

In the first new retail announcement since I started this blog in February of 2017...

Denizens Brewing Company is coming to Riverdale Park Station!

It will be a production facility with adjoining 150 seat tap room.

See the article here:

https://www.washingtonian.com/2018/04/13/denizens-brewing-co-silver-spring-will-open-new-taproom-in-hyattsville-md/

Denizens has said this will open late this year!

Update:  I have confirmation that they will be located in space 4C... see the map here:

PS:  Why do folks keep calling Riverdale Hyattsville?

  1. Because of the zipcode. A lot of journalists are lazy and just do a zipcode lookup. The Hyattsville postal zone is huge. It encompasses Adelphi, Landover, Riverdale, Langley Park, etc. But, leave it to the Government to actually eliminate this confusion you will be waiting another 50 years. My zipcode, 20783 will come up as Hyattsville. You see it when you fill out forms online. I put in my zipcode and it will pull up Hyattsville. I have to explicitly say Adelphi.

    1. Even Stanley Martin was calling Riverdale Park Station townhomes "Hyattsville Townhomes" and Ryan Homes were also calling Editors Park "Hyattsville Townhomes". I have seen what you are talking about with the postal code.

  2. Riverdale doesn't have a Hyattsville zip tho...this is just either lazy or agenda driven...20737 is Riverdale and this is in it. Right now the name Riverdale hasn't made it over the hump to a highly thought of area yet.

    1. I figured it was because folks outside this area know Hyattsville but I have seen what Adelphi means with online forms.

    2. The article has been updated to say Riverdale Park, near Hyattsville, now so that's good.

  3. I'm glad another place is opening up but what we really need right now is proper retail. I even sent an e-mail to White House Black Market because I thought the residents at RPS fit their demographic perfectly. Never heard back from them lol. I'm still hearing rumblings about an Apple store coming and then something about boutique stores. Who knows.

    1. I agree... Although I am excited about Denizens and think it is a great addition… I think that is enough food and drink places at RPS after Denizens.
I really would like things that make my life easier now like a dry cleaner, a pharmacy etc. There are still 12 slots remaining so I expect we will get those things and a few other good surprises. I am just glad SOMETHING has been announced as I have been following this development for 15 months and this is the first announcement in that time.

  4. Hi! Sorry to hijack this thread....although I AM excited about Denizens! I can't find a direct email for you, and wanted to let you know that University Park Elementary School (that's the one Riverdale Park is zoned for) is having our Azalea Classic event this Saturday, April 21. It's a 1K, 1M and 5K through beautiful spring scenery, and best of all, it's a fun community event that raises money for our fantastic public school. Even if you don't want to run, you can still sponsor a kid for only $20.

Here's a link to the registration site!

And if you'd like any more info, my email is mollymaclaren@gmail.com. It would be great if you could write a post!

    cheers,
    Molly
