Jersey Mike's opening delayed 1 week to 7/18/18

I do not think Jersey Mikes and Habit Burger were aware they had chosen the exact same opening date of Wednesday, July 11th.

Even though it appears almost all construction is completed at Jersey Mike's they have delayed their opening one week until 7/18/18, which makes sense as you do not want to share your opening date with your next door neighbor.

Habit Burger is NOT moving their date and is still opening on 7/11/18 as I had announced in the middle of this month.  More sources are recently reporting that date as well.

Habit Burger is giving away free burgers before they open if you sign up on their website.   This gives you the opportunity to try it out for free before they even open.

I have heard Jersey Mike's will also do something similar as well in the days leading up to their open.

  1. Just an FYI, we have been waiting for a specific lot to be released to sign a contract and we finally went in today with the intention of putting a deposit down and were told the cheapest Cassidy is now 20,000 more than it was a month ago. Unfortunately that prices us out. We really love the neighborhood but that’s insane pricing for this area.

    1. Just curious, did you consider the Parker? I know it's not a Cassidy but at least you would be in the neighborhood and have access to all the amenities available in the neighborhood.

    2. Also, I forgot to add: what price were they asking for? What Stanley Martin lists on its website is not accurate. Thanks!

    3. As the hubby to the commenter I can answer the questions. We looked at the Parker, but we won't settle for anything less than the Cassidy. We need the 3rd bedroom, 2 car garage and the extra sqft is really noticeable. You have to remember that the 'base price' listed on their site doesn't include some of the non-optional options that you have no control over...ie. lot location fee and elevation type. At this point the cheapest Cassidy, before options, is about $15k more expensive than the price on their site. Sneaky tactics to get you in the door before they hit you with all the other costs associated with the house before you even start pricing out options.

    4. This is the previous anonymous poster again. Thank you for the information. I figured Stanley Martin (SM) was deliberately stating a lower price to get people in the door and then play up the models to get customers to sign. Unfortunate but not heard of. The difference between the Parker and the Cassidy is honestly way too much ($72,500). But I guess because people are willing to pay, SM is going to take advantage of it. I was told from a reliable source that the most recent Cassidy (not the extra long one) sold for $630,000 after options, well over the asking price for the Cassidy model home.

    5. Yea me and the wife actually are not sure how the Cassidy's are getting appraised for as much as they are selling for. Redfin is a good site to go on to see what they are selling for, but of course they only have information on properties that have actually closed which means they only show sale prices up to buildings 5 and 6. It looks like the most expensive house that has closed so far is lot 54 which is an extended Cassidy and it sold for $620k on 5/22/18 which is what we were told is about the base price of the extended Cassidy.

    6. I have been out of town... just saw these comments. There is a bug with Blogger right now where it wont notify me on comments.

Honestly the Cassidy's second and third bedrooms are so small it's almost better to have one large one that's usable vs. two tiny ones. The loft is working fine as our guest bedroom when rarely needed.

In this community there is no need for two cars either. I am finding I am never driving anymore. The only reason I have not sold the second car is lack of time to do so.

I still wanted a Cassidy but I agree with the Anonymous poster that the price difference is way too big now.

I do not regret getting the Parker at all and I thought I would.

    7. I agree in terms of the price difference. It’s insane. Unfortunately for us as we have a 2 year old and an in law staying with us, we have to have three bedrooms. Especially because at some point we’d like to have another little one. We’ve looked at lots of other communities in the area, just none that we can find are as walkable as this one.

We are still hoping it works out. I’m totally off put by the sales tactics of Stanley Martin, but I do like the homes and the neighborhood. We will see if that’s enough to overcome the price tag. I’m not sure but I doubt it :(

  2. I’m not upset about the price not being as advertised, I’m more upset about the price changing from week to week. Two weeks ago the lot we wanted was priced out for us and when we walked in today the base price and lot premium were insanely higher. Either way, it just seems crazy. We love the community but sheesh...
